It’s the end of the week, so let’s take a look back at this past week on the WXRT Morning Show with Lin Brehmer and Mary Dixon:

The website Concert Hotels dot com compiled a list of pop, rock, country and R&B singers and measured their recorded vocal ranges. The site lists the songs for which both male and female singers hit their highest and lowest notes and ranks them by range. Needless to say, there are some surprises here; perhaps most notably, the singer with the largest range.

UPDATE: In response, Vintage Vinyl News dot com has published a more comprehensive list of vocalists and their respective ranges that bumps Axl Rose out of his former top spot. The new singer with the largest range may be just as surprising to you, though. It’s noted that the original list was based off of Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Singers list and the nominees for this year’s Billboard Music Awards, and the new list added many pop and rock singers who didn’t fit in with that criteria.

Enjoy another beautiful weekend!
