If you were to put rock and blues guitarists, Gary Clark Jr. and Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page in the same room, what do you get: an ad campaign that features Clark and Page for clothing designer, John Varvatos. With the release of Clark’s debut album, Blak and Blu, the singer has kept busy with an ad campaign, television appearances, and performances with music legends. Clark, a Texas native, is known for being “the future of Texas blues”, with his smooth guitar sound and unique vocal style. Blak and Blu was ranked as one of Rolling Stone’s “50 Best Albums of 2012”, and features the hit-single, “Ain’t Messin’ Round”.
In a recent Rolling Stone interview, Clark discusses what his experience was like modeling with Page, his sense of style, his performances, and what he’s up to next.
