We’ve all been sucked into lists on the internet. We know what they’re designed to do (generate clicks), but we still can’t help ourselves a lot of the time. We’re curious creatures and even though we know that a website or a writer’s rankings are totally subjective and/or arbitrary, we still enjoy disagreeing with them a lot of the time. Rolling Stone recently posted their “Top 10 Big Rooms in America” list and of the twenty, Chicago is represented twice. Can you guess which venues made the list? They said that the list consisted of “large clubs and theaters,” so without any hesitation, I assumed that the Chicago Theatre would be in the top 5. It wasn’t. It wasn’t even on the list of twenty.
